The Vaishno Devi Battery Car Service offers a convenient and eco-friendly transportation option for pilgrims undertaking the journey to the revered shrine atop Trikuta Mountain. Operated by the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, the service significantly reduces the physical strain of the 13.5 km trek from Katra to Bhawan, especially benefiting senior citizens, differently-abled individuals, and those with health conditions.

Booking for the battery car service can be done online through the official Shrine Board website. Pilgrims are required to register and select their preferred route (Ardhkuwari to Bhawan or vice versa), date, and time slot. A valid Yatra Parchi (registration slip) and government-issued photo ID are mandatory for booking and boarding. It's advisable to book well in advance, as slots are limited and fill up quickly, particularly during peak seasons like Navratri.

The battery car operates between Ardhkuwari and Bhawan, with fares set at Rs450 per person for the journey from Ardhkuwari to Bhawan, and Rs300 for the return trip. Children under the age of five can travel free when seated on an adult's lap. The service runs from early morning until late evening, with departures approximately every 30 minutes, depending on demand and weather conditions.

For those unable to secure online bookings, limited offline tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis at the Battery Car counters located at Ardhkuwari and Bhawan. It's important to note that offline availability is not guaranteed, and pilgrims are encouraged to plan accordingly.
